Celebrating our Volunteers

27 May 2013

Please join us in celebrating the work of our amazing volunteers ... and raising some money!

The Crown Tavern in Scarborough are generously hosting an event on May 27th. Starting at 11.30 am we will be offering live music from 1 p.m., stalls, a delicious BBQ, tombola, name the scarecrow competition, face painting,  games for kids, and information about staying and becoming mentally healthy, and becoming a Mind volunteer.

Musicians who will be donating their time and their talent to the evnent will include Glenn Coggin, Ian Swinburne, Bernie and Christine Johnson, Kyle James Frazer, Mark Chaplin and Gordon and Carol Cherry and Dave Clarke. Between them they will be singing and playing some '60's and '70's sing-along, ukulelele with a 'modern twist', Funny Folky tunes and some Cajun ... we can't wait and hope you can join us!

Summer raffle

We will also be selling tickets for our Summer raffle. First prize is a one mid-week overnight stay at Dunsley Hall Country House Hotel (yummy breakfast included) with other prizes including a fantastic Team GB T-shirt signed by Tom Daley, and a photo session with Julie Nichol Photography and a £50 M&S voucher.

The grand Head Shave!

Oh, and our CEO, Julie Nichol and longstanding supporter Glenn Coggin, will be getting their heads shaved on the day! The grand headshave will take place at 2 p.m. ... bet they're getting nervous now!

We have a great day planned ... and would love it if you could be there.

39,000 people in Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale will experience loss, isolation and stigma TODAY just because they have a mental helath problem. With your support our amazing volunteers can help them step onto the road to recovery and find happiness again.
