11 March 2019
Two mental health and wellbeing workshops are being offered in Pickering and are open to anyone whether they are struggling with their mental health or just want to improve their own coping skills. The workshops are being held on Monday 11th March.
At the sessions people will learn more about mental ill-health, build on and develop their own coping strategies as well as giving them the chance to meet others who might be experiencing similar difficulties.
In the Mental Health Awareness and Wellbeing workshop, participants will look at mental health awareness and wellbeing, how it affects people and what steps they can take to feel happier, more positive and able to get the most from life.
This session is being held from 9.30am to 11.45am at the Memorial Hall, Pickering
The afternoon session will combine two of the most popular workshops we offer. Anxiety Management will help people learn about ways to manage anxiety, learn about what triggers it and find out about coping strategies they can use to help combat the symptoms.
Confidence building will focus on boosting people’s own self-image and improve their confidence as well as encouraging them to plan and prepare for different situations in a more positive way.
The afternoon session will run from 12.30pm until 3pm.
All the sessions will be delivered by a member of the charity’s staff in a relaxed atmosphere with opportunities for people to share and talk if they wish.
Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale Mind has a small fund to help people pay for transport if they are able to show evidence of financial hardship.
Anyone interested in attending, or if you are a professional who would like to refer someone, is asked to call the charity in advance on (01723) 356562 to book their place.
