Walking The Walk

7 April 2019

Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Mind would like to invite people to come and join us on Sunday April 7th to Walking the Walk.

The family friendly walk is free to take part and there are two different routes – a more challenging route of 22 miles (The Ultimate Challenge) and a shorter route of 12 miles (The Family Challenge). The 22 mile walk starts at 8am and the family challenge at 11am.

The Ultimate Challenge starts at Whitby Abbey before joining the Cinder Track and journeys along part of the Cleveland Way through Robin Hood’s Bay, Ravenscar, Hayburn Wyke and Scalby, down the glen to Peasholm before finishing up at Scarborough Castle.

The Family Challenge commences at the Raven Hall Hotel in Ravenscar, walking to Hayburn Wyke, through Scalby down the glen to Peasholm before finishing at Scarborough Castle. If transport is an issue, there will be buses available to take walkers from the Street in Scarborough and The Rosette in Scalby up to the Raven Hall Hotel, these will be leaving The Street at 10am. If you would like a place on the bus, once you have registered with us for the walk, contact Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource to book your bus seats on 01723 850155

Both take in the beautiful scenery of the Whitby and Scarborough area.

The walk is suitable for all the family and we are hoping it will be a fun way to enjoy some exercise and for those walking alone, some company too.

We would be delighted if you would consider raising money for us although walkers will also be raising money for three other local charities on the day - Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource, YMCA Scarborough and Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue.

Places are limited so people MUST register in advance by by contacting Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale Mind on (01723) 356562 or email info@swrmind.org.uk
