No fowl play at good natured garden party

1st September 2015

A traditional English garden party while the sun shone has raised more than £750 for us.

The fund-raiser called Pleasantry at the Pheasantry at The Pheasantry B&B in Snainton Scarborough has been hailed a huge success.

Around 60 people came along to enjoy an afternoon of live music, cream teas, cakes, sandwiches and a barbecue.

A raffle with lots of great prizes including a selection of wines and spirits, a teddy bear, gift vouchers, jams and preserves, children's and dining experience.

There were plenty of garden games including crouquet, boules, giant dominos and Jenga with some fantastic live music from Echotwin, Bob Muir, Alex Bailey and Callum Wilson.

Head of services Sophie Hall said: "The event was really successful and was a day enjoyed by all ages and even animals too.

"We are really grateful to David and Paula Whitecross who were kind enough to let us host the event for free in their beautiful grounds and let us use their kitchen and catering facilities.

"The weather was perfect and we would like to thank everyone who came for supporting it."

We hope to organise a similar event next year.
