A fund-raising style evening has raised more than £600 for Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale Mind.

Expert in colour analysis, Elaine Gill, hosting the event at the Talbot Hotel in Malton on Monday 27th March to raise money for us.

Winner of the House of Colour Star Consultant award for the past three years, Elaine has run her successful consultancy in Harrogate since 1999 where she works with both male and female private and corporate clients.

Thirty women attended the event where they learnt how to develop their own colour palette for clothing that compliments their skin and colouring, selecting different types of make-up and how to apply, picking their own style that reflects personality such as romantic or classic.

Elaine demonstrated how you can pack a month’s worth of clothing into one small cabin bag using a bit of magic and expert rolling.

CEO at SWR Mind, Sophie Hall said the fundraiser, which made £613.70 for the charity, was a huge success: She said: “I really enjoyed the evening even though the whole concept of having style is a bit alien to me! Apparently I need to move away from my addiction to black clothing and over-reliance on jeans for every occasion.

“We really appreciate Elaine volunteering her time to raise funds for us and it certainly seemed like everyone really enjoyed the evening.”

SWR Mind would like to say a huge thank you to the Talbot Hotel who provided a beautiful room for the evening and a table of refreshments.
