The members of our new board of trustees have a wealth of experience and are from all walks of life.
Our trustees are Christine Gilkes (Chair), Peter Steel (Vice Chair), Jessica Appleby, Robert Barnett, Christine Swaine and David Latham. The board come from a wide range of fields of employment including accounting, legal, human resources, NHS, business development and local government.
Chief Executive of SWR Mind, Sophie Hall said: “We are really thankful that we have a new board of trustees with a great range of skills and personalities taking the time to dedicate themselves to improving mental health support.
“The trustees aim is to steer the charity in the right direction and make sure we have a future.
“Things are looking brighter and it’s all going in the right direction. We are looking at what we need to do now to make sure that the organization stays open in the long term."
We're always keen to welcome new volunteer trustees. If you have experience or knowledge of accountancy or finance, Human Resources, fund-raising or are active in your local community, particularly in the Whitby and Ryedale areas, please get in touch.
Trustees must be over the age of 18 and be able to spare four to six hours each month.
You will receive out of pocket expenses for taking on the role which includes attending a monthly meeting, reviewing business reports and attending various events including our Annual General Meeting.
As a small local charity our trustees are vital and for just a few hours of your time each month, you can make a huge difference to people's lives as well as gaining plenty of valuable experience.
