Volunteer opportunities

People can volunteer with us to provide short, medium or longer-term support for people with mental health problems, or a combination. All of Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale Mind's volunteers provide social, emotional and practical support, information and advocacy – but you can specialise if you want to.

We are also interested in volunteers with particular existing skills and qualifications in such as horticulture, drama, alternative therapies, relaxation or art therapy.

Opportunities also exist to join our administrative support team, as a member of our fund-raising team or on our board of trustees.

Here you can read more about several of the volunteer role opportunities in more detail and they are now available for anyone to apply for.

To be a volunteer you don't need any previous experience of mental health, just a desire to help others to lead more fulfilling, independent and enjoyable lives.

We will provide training and support and offer you a range of opportunities for personal growth and development.

If you like the sound of one of the roles and have the time and energy to make a commitment, then please do not hesitate in getting in touch with Volunteer Co-ordinator Natalie Miles on (01723) 356562 or email natalie.miles@swrmind.org.uk
