Lucy’s Legacy Fun Dog Show

Raising funds for SWR Mind, join the Lucy’s Legacy team for a fun, family friendly dog show at Beadlam Grange Farm Shop. You can sign up for classes on the day; if you would like to book a walk and farm tour including a breakfast bap and cuppa with farm owner Mark Rooke, please contact Faye on 0779 268 0540 or Holly on 0739 583 3910 in advance of the event. (£10 per person, £25 family ticket, walk begins at 10am.)

Lucy’s Legacy was created in honour of Lucy Pearson who sadly lost her life to suicide in September 2024. Leaving behind her husband and two young children. Lucy suffered with postnatal depression and her family and friends feel that the services that should have helped Lucy sadly failed her. After her passing Lucy’s Legacy was born, with the aim of raising awareness and vital funds to support those suffering with postnatal depression and maternal mental health related illnesses. We are taking action against the postcode lottery of perinatal care in our area. Having a baby is a transformative experience which affects nearly every aspect of your life, this can affect your mental health in many ways. Lucy’s Legacy and our collaboration with Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind is here to help navigate that change and break the stigma of discussing mental health, so that no other family suffers this tragedy.

Funds raised from Lucy’s Legacy events will be used for a range of initiatives to support maternal mental health such as a maternal mental health guide, website, training package and counselling for women experiencing maternal mental health issues.
