Support for young women aged 16–25 who are struggling with self-harm

Sometimes things can feel overwhelming.

You might be struggling with difficult emotions, feeling stuck, or using self-harm as a way to cope with what’s going on. Whatever things feel like right now, you don’t have to manage them alone.

Beyond Harm is a free and confidential support service for young women aged 16–25 who are experiencing self-harm or finding things difficult emotionally.

Delivered in partnership by SWR Mind, Mind in Harrogate District, and Darlington Mind, Beyond Harm offers compassionate, non-judgemental support in a safe and understanding environment.

What support is available?

1:1 Support

A safe space to talk with someone who will listen without judgement. We’ll work alongside you to understand what’s going on and help you find ways to cope that feel right for you.

Monthly Peer Support Groups

We run monthly peer support groups in each area, creating a welcoming space where young women can connect with others who understand. Groups are facilitated by a qualified counsellor and supported by a mental health worker to ensure everyone feels safe and supported.

Additional Counselling Support

For those needing more in-depth support, additional counselling may be available depending on individual need.
