How we've responded to your feedback...
You Said……We did…..
“Workshops could be longer to help us discuss more”
We creating the “moving on” workshops that are 2.5 hours long to build on the shorter, introduction workshops. These give a lot more time for the group to discuss ideas and share experiences.
“Include positive growth mindset in the workshops”
We have designed a whole workshop around growth mind-set and developed some templates and self-guided tools to help develop growth mindset.
Many of you told us that there were certain things you didn’t like about some venues such as being too cold, too hard to find or you not being comfortable in a religious building.
We have created a new venue survey to collate the accessibility of all local places that hire rooms and are going to share this with all our local partners so we know which places have the facilities that match what is needed. Wherever possible, we don’t use religious buildings, not because there are any issues with a particular religion but some clients have said they are not places they feel comfortable in. We gather feedback on the venues we use from clients and collate this in our venue directory and make sure we respond to feedback, e.g. people tell us they love Peasholm hub, but that it can be a bit cold in winter so we avoid it during winter months.
“The Wheel assessment takes too long and is overwhelming”
Although our Wheel assessment was coproduced with clients and professionals, many of you told us it was “too much” to undertake early on in your support. After lots of reviewing, we decided to move to 3 scales that the Mind network use frequently which are Short Warwick Edinburgh, Rosenberg Self Esteem and the Social Provision Scale. Most project will use 1 or 2 of these as the assessment, depending on what is most suitable for the project aims.
“There’s too much paperwork”
We reviewed our paperwork in 2023 and combined, minimised and shortened as much as we can. All the current paperwork is either something required by funders, required by law (e.g. privacy notice) or needed to provide you with the best support we can, e.g. talking to other organisations where needed and having a clear support plan in place.
Mind need to provide counselling
In every recent consultation, you told us that you wanted more access to counselling. We have a great local counselling charity Community Counselling and don’t want to provide anything encroaching on their work but we have been able to secure some funding for longer term counselling which is lacking in our area (12 sessions+). We’re also allocating money from our fundraising income towards counselling and will endeavour to offer as many places as we can!
